At Toots we want to make sure your child has well balanced meals whilst in our care, ensuring all children have the energy for a fun filled day at Toots. Our qualified in house chef provides breakfast, a mid-morning drink and snack, lunch and tea. Our seasonal four week menu is created based on fresh, nutritional and healthy food. All food is cooked and prepared at Toots.
Vegetarian and vegans options are provided as well as children requiring special dietary requirements due to food allergies. Dietary needs for medical, religious or cultural reasons are also catered for at Toots.
Our Chef is a Level 3 Childcare practitioner and enjoys involving the children in planning menus by engaging in regular group discussion about their favourite foods and using fresh vegetables and herbs they have helped grow in the garden.
Overall we see mealtimes as social occasions where children and staff can sit and enjoy together in a happy and relaxed environment. Toots Children are encouraged to choose their own meals, serve themselves and others. We encourage the children to practice good manners and conversation throughout each meal time, creating a healthy relationship between the children and food.
Babies that are weaning have their own individual meal plan.
All staff involved in food preparation hold a food hygiene certificate and Toots always achieve ‘5 star scores on the doors’ award from Wandsworth Council.
