Rooms

Tiggers (6 – 18 months)

Our unique baby room is tailored to meet your little ones every need, with its own sleep room and separate garden for your baby to be nurtured, cared for and loved whilst maintaining their routine and gently introducing them into nursery life.

Sensory learning helps your baby develop rapidly, using large and small muscles for motor control and their communication development. We have all the equipment and planned activity to help stimulate these early development needs.

We begin to introduce colours, shapes and numbers through books and age appropriate toys. Staff are dedicated to interacting and encouraging  your baby to develop and learn whilst creating strong bonds and relationships with their key child. Staff also complete daily logs on your babies day so you don’t miss a thing.

Gosia

Hi, I’m Gosia and I’ve been working at Toots since 2008. I have had experience in Busy Bees, Pre-school and am now the Room Leader in Tiggers. I am a qualified teacher with a degree in Early Years Education from Poland. My Son is now attending secondary school, so I know first- hand how important it is to create a safe, interesting environment for the children at Toots. I love teaching older children mathematical skills, doing art work etc, but also really enjoy making sure the babies feel secure and providing activities that they thoroughly enjoy.

Lorena

Hi I’m Lorena. This is my first job in years as I stayed at home to bring up my two lovely girls. I’m enjoying it so much that I’m working towards my Level 3 in Childcare which will be completed next year. I have been working in the baby room for just over a year and am happy caring for the babies as I feel it’s important to nurture the children during their early experiences.

Lauren

Hello, I’m Lauren and I started at Toots in October 2017. I have my Level 3 in ‘Childcare and Young People’s Workforce,’ and previously worked in other nurseries. I started in Pre-school with the oldest children and moved to Tiggers in May. I enjoy seeing how the children develop and especially their love of circle time. I enjoy applying my knowledge of the EYFS to the younger age group.

Busy Bees (18 months – 3 years)

Toddlers love to explore and experience the world around them, our large light room allows and encourages children to thrive by exploring their senses through movement and mobility. With our soft play and gym house on a large carpeted area provides the perfect place to do this.

Staff want to encourage children to be creative and active through many different types of activities, by organising many creative projects including music and cookery. We have a large space dedicated to daily activities, such as encouraging children to be adventurous and creative with sand, water and paint, as well as malleable activities. Children are also developing their imagination at this stage therefore our dressing up area, home corner and book area are popular for the quieter winding down moments.

We provide individual beds for all children to take afternoon naps and busy bees have their own outdoor space to enjoy throughout the day.

Busy Bees also have their own outdoor space.

Pre-School (3 – 5 years)

Our Pre- School room is designed to resemble a nursery class, to begin the transition to school but not without the home comforts and security of the nursery environment. We encourage a continuous vibrant and lively atmosphere to stimulate our children’s interest in all areas of the curriculum. Learning through a combination of child focussed and adult led activities is encouraged. Our excellent staff support our children in learning, to question the world around them by encouraging children to experience and expand their learning to reach their full potential. We provide early learning Math, Literacy, Science and Technology alongside all creative activities, the children also benefit and thrive from an extended curriculum of French Spanish, Drama and Yoga and also enjoy learning and celebrating multi- cultural festivals throughout the year.

To build confident and social skills we encourage games, activities and circle time to ensure they are prepared for school. Providing them with endless opportunities to take responsibility for the environment and to develop and express kindness towards each other. Rota’s and task strategies are introduced as well as ‘helper’s of the day’ rewards. Our conservatory creates a different environment for the children leading out to a large garden for all to enjoy.

Sam

Hi. Before coming to Toots I took the level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and enjoyed the childcare units so decided to take up an apprenticeship. I completed my Level 3 NVQ in ‘Child and Young People’s Workforce,’ securing a job at Toots on completion. I have been employed at Toots since 2011 and enjoyed working in each of the rooms. Having worked with both babies and Busy Bees, I am currently pre-school room leader/acting deputy manager and enjoy doing projects such as ‘naturalising’ the little playground. I enjoy child psychology and am studying for my degree.
